Refund & Cancellation Policy

 

skillsup.lk is a service provided by Wisdom Global Solutions (Pvt) Ltd (Business Registration No. PV 00308248). This policy outlines the terms and conditions for refunds and cancellations related to our online courses, LMS services, and offline course programs.

Our goal is to ensure a fair and transparent experience for all our users. Please read this policy carefully before making any purchases or enrollments. By proceeding with a transaction on skillsup.lk, you agree to this Refund & Cancellation Policy.


 

1. General Principles

  • All refund requests must be made in writing via email to hello@skillsup.lk.

  • Refund eligibility depends on the type of service (online course, offline program, trainer promotion fees) and adherence to the specific conditions outlined below.

  • Processing fees, transaction charges, or taxes originally incurred by skillsup.lk during the initial payment may be deducted from the refund amount.

  • Refunds will generally be processed back to the original method of payment. Please allow 7-14 business days for the refund to appear in your account after approval.


 

2. Online Courses (Free & Paid)

2.1. Free Courses:

  • There are no refunds or cancellations applicable to free courses as no payment is involved. Access to free courses may be revoked at any time by skillsup.lk if a user violates our Terms & Conditions.

2.2. Paid Online Courses (Students):

  • Refund Eligibility Period: You may be eligible for a full refund if you submit your request within 7 days of purchase AND you have not accessed more than 10% of the course content (based on video watch time, completed lessons, or downloaded materials).

  • Conditions for No Refund:

    • No refunds will be issued after the 7-day eligibility period has passed.

    • No refunds will be issued if more than 10% of the course content has been accessed or downloaded, regardless of the time elapsed since purchase.

    • No refunds will be issued for completed courses or courses for which a certificate of completion has been issued.

    • No refunds will be issued if the reason for cancellation is due to your personal circumstances (e.g., lack of time, change of mind, inability to complete the course).

    • No refunds will be issued for issues arising from your own technical setup or internet connectivity, provided our platform is generally accessible.

  • Course Content Issues: If a course is found to be significantly misrepresented, incomplete, or technically inaccessible due to a fault of skillsup.lk or the Trainer, we will investigate the matter. If verified, we may offer a full refund, partial refund, or credit for another course, at our discretion. This must be reported within 7 days of identifying the issue.


 

3. Offline Courses and Programs

3.1. General Policy:

  • For offline courses or programs listed or facilitated by skillsup.lk, the specific refund and cancellation policy will be detailed on the individual course/program page at the time of booking. This is because offline programs often have varying venue, instructor, and material costs.

  • It is your responsibility to review the specific refund and cancellation terms for any offline program before making a payment.

3.2. Common Scenarios (Unless otherwise specified on program page):

  • Cancellation by Participant:

    • More than 14 days before start date: Full refund, minus any non-refundable registration fees or administrative charges specified.

    • Between 7 and 14 days before start date: 50% refund.

    • Less than 7 days before start date or No-Show: No refund.

  • Cancellation by skillsup.lk / Wisdom Global Solutions (Pvt) Ltd:

    • If an offline course or program is cancelled by skillsup.lk due to insufficient registrations, trainer unavailability, or unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive a full refund of any fees paid. We will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative dates or programs.


 

4. Trainer Profile & Course Promotion Fees

4.1. Non-Refundable Nature:

  • Fees paid by Trainers for adding and promoting their public profiles and courses on skillsup.lk are generally non-refundable. These fees cover the administrative costs, marketing efforts, and platform resources allocated to making your profile and content visible to potential students.

  • Once a trainer profile or course promotion has been activated and made visible on the platform, the service for which the fee was paid is considered rendered.

4.2. Exceptions (at skillsup.lk’s sole discretion):

  • Technical Malfunction: If a significant technical malfunction on skillsup.lk’s part demonstrably prevented the promotion of a profile or course for an extended period, and the issue was reported promptly by the Trainer, skillsup.lk may, at its discretion, offer a partial refund or extension of promotion duration.

  • Violation of Terms: If a Trainer’s profile or course is removed due to a violation of our Terms & Conditions (e.g., inappropriate content, intellectual property infringement), no refund of promotion fees will be issued.


 

5. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation

To request a refund or cancellation, please follow these steps:

  1. Send an email to our support team at hello@skillsup.lk.

  2. Subject Line: Clearly state “Refund Request – [Your Course Name]” or “Cancellation Request – [Your Program Name/Trainer Profile]”.

  3. In the email, include the following information:

    • Your full name and registered email address on skillsup.lk.

    • The name of the course or program.

    • Date of purchase/enrollment.

    • Your payment transaction ID or receipt number.

    • A clear and concise reason for your refund/cancellation request.

    • For online courses, confirm that you have accessed less than 10% of the content.

  4. Our team will review your request and respond within 3-5 business days to confirm eligibility and guide you through the next steps.


 

6. Policy Updates

skillsup.lk reserves the right to modify or update this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised policy on this page, with an updated “Effective Date”. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
